It was only instinct to run away, that thing was the stuff of nightmares. Its hanging jaw flicked around as it turned in your direction, the sound of your footsteps alerting it. Every heavy step made it salivate in excitement, another feast, another prize.
You run, fear rushing through your veins like a drug. Its horrible effects embed themselves in your mind.
The alley walls suddenly feel suffocating, horribly claustrophobic as you try to navigate the once-familiar brick halls.
You run your hand over the bricks, trying to escape the monster’s gaze through this urban maze that only grew.
You can hear the thump thump of the creature’s padded feet, the large calluses that cover the soles leaving crimson blood prints. The rotting nails of the monster scrape over the pavement, leaving chalk-like scars on the stormy-grey concrete. You can smell the awful stench of carrion that emanates from the monster, the smell only getting stronger and fouler as it bounds closer to your panicked, sprinting form. It’s wide, needled maw pants, hot breaths that you can feel at the back of your head. The damp, rancid air coats your hair as it approaches and as you turn back, all you can see are the gleeful, malevolent eyes that roll to the back of the monster’s head as it closes its massive jaws around your cranium.
The agony is immense, though, it doesn’t last long as its teeth puncture your skull, crushing the bone instantly.
